Frequently Asked Questions

We've got answers to some of your most frequently asked questions.

  • How Much Does a Convenient VirtuCare Visit Cost?

We offer easy-to-understand pricing with no hidden fees. Convenient VirtuCare is an affordable healthcare solution. Visit our plan and pricing page for more details about our subscription service and single visit pricing. Convenient VirtuCare is much more affordable than a visit to urgent care or the ER (even with insurance in most cases).

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We cannot accept gift cards in any form at this time.

At the beginning of your virtual visit, the provider determines whether your health concern is appropriate for virtual urgent care. If your situation is quickly determined to be inappropriate for Virtual Urgent Care, you will not be charged for the visit. However, a virtual visit that does not result in a diagnosis or prescription is not considered cause for a refund.

  • Does My Insurance Cover a Convenient VirtuCare Visit?

Insurance coverage is not required. We strive to provide you a low-cost alternative to waiting in crowded Emergency Rooms and traditional Urgent Cares and will be less out of pocket than most insurance copays. At the conclusion of your visit, we will provide you with everything that you need to submit to your insurance company if you desire to.

  • Can I Use My Flexible Spending or Health Saving Account to pay for a Convenient VirtuCare visit?

Typically, the virtual visit fee is a qualified expense for a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA) or Health Reimbursement Account (HRA). If you choose to pay by this method, please note that the card must have a Visa or Mastercard logo. Please check with your insurance plan for reimbursement of the visit fee.

  • How Long Will I Have To Wait To See a Convenient VirtuCare Doctor or Nurse Practitioner?

Once you check into the waiting room (while in the convenience of your own home of course), we strive to see you within 10 minutes or less. We will text, call, or email you when a provider is ready to see you- whichever you prefer.

  • Is a Convenient VirtuCare Visit Safe?

  • How Does Convenient VirtuCare and Telemedicine Work?

Great care is only a few clicks away.

Once your virtual visit starts via telephone or video, your virtual provider will ask you a series of brief questions to help understand the nature of your health concern and the best treatment options for you.

Virtual visits typically last about 20 minutes. We will provide a summary of your visit online and make arrangements for follow-up if it is required. We can even help you find a new doctor. Any prescriptions your virtual provider deems appropriate will be called into your pharmacy.

  • What is a Nurse Practitioner (NP)?

NPs are quickly becoming the health partner of choice for millions of Americans. As clinicians that blend clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating health conditions with an added emphasis on disease prevention and health management, NPs bring a comprehensive perspective to health care. Americans make over 870 million visits to NPs every year.

Autonomously and in collaboration with health care professionals and other individuals, NPs provide a full range of primary, acute and specialty health care services, including:

    • Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays.
    • Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, infections, and injuries.
    • Prescribing medications and other treatments.
    • Managing patients’ overall care.
    • Counseling.
    • Educating patients on disease prevention and positive health and lifestyle choices.

NPs are more than just health care providers; they are mentors, educators, researchers, and administrators. Their involvement in professional organizations and participation in health policy activities at the local, state, national, and international levels helps to advance the role of the NP and ensure that professional standards are maintained.

By providing high-quality care and counseling, NPs can lower the cost of health care for patients. For example, patients who see NPs as their primary care provider often have fewer emergency room visits, shorter hospital stays and lower medication costs

With over 870 million visits made to NPs each year, patients report an extremely high level of satisfaction with the care they receive.

By offering high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered health care, NPs provide more than 234,000 solutions to the primary care shortage facing America today.
